Day/Time: Wednesdays 2:30pm—4:00pm

Dates: Sept. 17—Dec. 10, 2025

Students: 4th—5th Grade

Location: 546 9th Street, Oakland, CA 94607

Cost: $300, no one turned away for lack of funds

Chapter 510 prioritizes Oakland-rooted BIPOC and LGBTQ+ students by creating a space and a place for them in our free programs and workshops. We acknowledge the effects of gentrification in Oakland and also welcome youth located in surrounding areas.

Bring your stories to life—one fold at a time! In Write, Fold, Wow!, young creators will write short, imaginative tales and turn them into colorful pop-up books that leap off the page. We’ll learn paper tricks, invent surprise moments, and design bold characters and settings that truly pop. Perfect for kids who love stories, art, and a little bit of magic!

She is the winner of the 2020 New Visions Award by Lee & Low Books and the inaugural Judith Tannenbaum Teaching Artist Fellowship. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University. In addition to her own work, Tiffany has also worked with school-aged youth for nearly 20 years, supporting them in sharing their voices and visions.

***We are building sustainability into our organization in order to sustain Chapter 510 as a long lasting resource for Oakland youth, families and community***

All of our classes are “sliding scale pay what you can” and no one is turned away for lack of funds!

We ask that families contribute what they can to keep this important work going. If you can afford to contribute more than the suggested price,
please know that your funds will support the participation of other students who need financial assistance.

Chapter 510 believes Oakland youth deserve the highest amenities in creative writing and integrative arts education. We invest in the success of Oakland youth.
