We will be hosting an EPIC celebration of our new joyfully rebuilt writing center on Write Your Roots Day, which is now an all-Town holiday and festival, proclaimed by the city of Oakland as the last Friday in April.
This year, we will be WRITING and CELEBRATING the GRAND OPENING of our center from 12pm–7pm (with a poetry program at 6pm). Come take part in this year’s all-Town collaborative poem in one of our Writing Nooks, press a broadside in our Mini-Printshop, make a book in our beautiful bookmaking studio, record yourself in our fresh new podcasting studio, and see history in the making: the very first youth reading on our stage built by Girls Garage!
