It is important to us that our youth, families, staff and volunteers stay safe a we come back to in-person learning.

MAIN PROTOCOLS TO NOTE:
-Students are required to provide proof of vaccination or vaccination status

-Everyone in our writing center and within schools, including staff, teaching artists, mentors, volunteers, and students must be masked at all times, indoors or outdoors.

-Parents should be masked when dropping off or picking up students from our center or Westlake Writers’ Room.

-If experiencing any symptoms of sickness, all staff, teaching artists, mentors, volunteers, and students should stay home until symptoms subside and provide a negative COVID test upon return to in-person learning.

-If you’ve been directly exposed to COVID, please immediately report a direct exposure to our staff. We ask that you refrain from coming in for 5 days with proof of a negative COVID test.

-If you test positive for COVID, report a positive COVID result us, so we can call you and talk through who has been exposed and who will need to be notified of the exposure. All staff, volunteers, and students must quarantine for 10 days after a positive COVID test before returning to our workshops.

-If we are notified of a positive case, we will determine dates of exposure and who may have been in prolonged close contact. Those who were in prolonged close contact will receive notifications that they have been exposed, instructions for quarantine, a reminder to watch for new symptoms, testing resources, and options for potentially returning back to workshops or work.

-All shared workspaces, restrooms, and equipment will be cleaned and sanitized after each workshop in our center or in our Westlake Writers’ Room.
