CHAPTER 510’S HOLIDAY BOOK FAIR & CELEBRATION!

Saturday, December 10
1pm-6pm
The Dept. of Make / Believe (and Chapter 510 HQ)
546 9th Street, Oakland

We will be hosting an EPIC celebration of EIGHTEEN newly written books by Oakland youth. Come CELEBRATE these young authors and get all your BOOKISH holiday shopping done in one day! Students will be signing books throughout the day, and there will be two readings that you can attend too!

Last school year, after two years of remote learning, EIGHTEEN YOUNG OAKLANDERS penned full-length, single-author picture books and novels. Writing a book is no small feat. Each young writer enrolled in Chapter510’s free writing programs because they had something big and brave to share with the world. They wrote countless drafts and took in feedback from our teaching artists, writing mentors, and each other.

On December 10, they will become published authors! We hope you join us in celebrating each and every young author.
