In collaboration with Oakland’s performance-based project House/Full of Blackwomen, Chapter 510 is hosting a writing and bookmaking workshop where we explore the need and value for rest, daydreaming, and night dreaming along with quiet reflection and how to get a good night’s sleep. We will share dreams, write free flowing day dreams, meditate, do yoga, go on short walks, all in service to the imagination and opening our minds to our unique selves.
A book will be created from this workshop, and participants will have the opportunity to perform/read the work we create during this time at our First Friday open house on April 7.
This is a five-week workshop, held on Saturdays from 12pm-2pm at our center located at 2301 Telegraph Avenue. We have 10 spots available for black girls residing in Oakland. It is important to attend all classes but no one will be excluded if attendance at all classes is not possible.
Saturdays, March 4, 11, 18, 25 & April 1
This workshop is currently full, but do add your name to the waiting list! If more space opens up, we will contact you.
